What are some things you can say about 1930 movie posters?
Well I'm doing a little history project and I just need a little summary on some of the 1930 movie posters. Some being, The Wizard of Oz, Gone with the Wind, and King Kong. Why are they essential in the movie industry? How are these three movie posters different from each other? How were all of these 1930 movie posters different from the ones we see now?
Public Comments
- Colorful, eye-catching, dramatized, full of action (suspense, laughter, adventure etc.,), and old
- They were essential because they couldn't advertise on t.v! Now, we photoshop our posters and they're simply used to catch our eye, in the 1930's, every shot had to be perfect, and they really depended on them to bring in an audience.
- they're timeless and classic. People still would rather have them hanging in homes and such today than new ones because they're not only stunning visually, but are from movies that won't ever see an equal. personally, there's something so romantic about old movies...and all i have to do is see scarlett and rhett on that poster and it all comes rushing back.
