I need a visual representtion (painting, poster, cartoon etc) for belonging? Hi I am doing my HSC and I have a large assignment for English. Basically I need to write a short story about this sentence the teacher gave us about belonging (done) then I need to write 3 "analytical pieces" (basically analyze and explain why it relates to belonging and how it is shown...) one of those needed to done on a movie and be written as a speech and delivered to the class (done) then the other two need to be on different "language styles" (and different to each other too) so I have done one on song lyrics, and I need to do one more on either a novel (don't have enough time) or a visual representation (need help thinking of some). SO TO THE POINT...: I need to know some famous paintings/photos/posters/cartoons etc that relate to belonging or alienation. I am thinking of doing tank man (the photo of the guy that stood in front of the tanks at tiananmen square) but need to consider more anyway (it would also be a fairly hard one) Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Oops I made a typo in the heading *representation And thanks for the suggestion dedmunne but I think it has to be a famous painting(or whatever) like tank man(/the unknown rebel) or the monna lisa (but she doesn't really relate to belonging much lol) Never mind, I found one (the Uncle Sam recruitment poster). Actually just type that in if you want some free points ;)
what would be a good cartoon on air pollution? I have to draw a cartoon about air pollution on a small poster for chemistry class. It's part of a group project i have to do. my teacher said it should have some humor, but not "bad" humor. I had one idea, but no humor. and i want it to be good. like, i want it to , well, look better than the other group too. Hey the better it looks, the better grade me and my group get. :D SO yeah, can anyone help me out on this. Any ideas on what i should draw. it has to make sense and be a little funny. Nothing made up. It has to be about AIR POLLUTION. Thanks ^___^ Hope you all had a great mothers day. :) The other group had someones brother do the drawing for them. the poster looked really good to me. :]

Trying to find a poster I have seen of Pittsburgh that has cartoons/drawings of the Pgh. area? I grew up in Pittsburgh and when I was there a lot of people had this great poster of the Pittsburgh area - it was actually a drawing/cartoon type showing all the neighborhoods of Pgh, some of the notable buildings and parks and stuff, the rivers, etc. - it was really cool and I am trying to find one online. So far searchs of sites that have Pgh posters only have photo skylines. Any Pittsburghers out there that can help? Thanks!

Stanley Baldwin was often presented by cartoonist as the man in control but why ? Hello. I am from France and interested in the inter war period in Britain. (posters, cartoons...) but I have some difficulties to understand what British people really thought about Baldwin. He was often presented by cartoonists as a man in control but why this impression was so often conveyed? So if you have an idea it would be really helpful ! Best, vinni
Does anybody have examples of country stereotypes in media? I just got into watching the anime Axis Powers Hetalia, which is based around country stereotypes during WWI and WWII. After watching it, it got me thinking about other ways countries have stereotyped each other, particularly during times of war. I was wondering if anybody had any examples of that, like political cartoons, war posters, etc.. Doesn't necessarily need to be during war times, though :3 Thanks~!
Can you explain this cartoon? Can you explain this cartoon? I need to fully confirm my understanding of this. Help? http://www.flickr.com/photos/11134732@N04/3257330501/ I want to use this economic cartoon for a poster in my economics class, anything will help!
There seems to be so many successful avatar posters, but thousands like me that need help. Help for all of us? I am not trying to be rude. I am so frustrated with the avatar process. Many users seem to have posted a logo or something that is not one of the silly (and to me childish) cartoon characters. I can tell I am not the only user that can't figure this out. I know many of you are tired of these questions. An answer that works will stop them. Step by step please, I have a 360 account, haven't seen any benefit of it yet, hasn't helped me one ounce or gram in placing the logo I want in my avatar.
How do I get an "old-school" woman's body? In keeping with a typical New Year's tradition, I really want to get into good shape w/ in a few weeks (all I need to do is tone up, not lose weight). I was walking around today & saw a bunch of 50s/60s such style posters w/ realistic looking cartoon women, & there are always pics of Marilyn Monroe, Bettie Page, Linda Carter, & such. Even though I wasn't around in these eras, I miss this natural curvy hour-glass look on women!! But all you see in today's culture is the too skinny, narrow-hip kind. My body type will never EVER get like this because I've always had wider hips, so I'd rather it look like the former. So, are there any specific exercises I could do in obtaining/keeping this kind of body? Also, have women's bodies changed that much, or is that just from what we've seen in advertising? Just curious.
Can't remember the name of a cat and dog cartoon? I've watched this cartoon probably in the 90's and can't remember the name of it. All I can remember is the cover or poster of the cartoon has a black and white dog and a brown kitten standing on a piano and the piano is being lift by a crane. Any idea? *Update* That's right!!! Oliver and Company. And yes, I remember the colour of Dodger and Oliver wrongly. Thanks!!!
